I will dominate 'legitimate combatant' Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight-bout contest which will be shown live on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the two fighters confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming boxing match.

Former twice unified boxing king Anthony Joshua meets social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge mismatch - at Miami venue on 19 December.

Fighter's Mentality

"I'm going to injure his face and damage his physique. I aim to demonstrate I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, declared.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's a fighter's mentality.

"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and internet personality Paul - usually famous for his theatrics - exchanged pleasantries and maintained decorum with each other.

Paul instead attacked ex Joshua's rival Francis Ngannou and described him as "not serious" after Ngannou declined a bout proposal.

Targeting Tyson Fury

Anthony Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"Jake Paul is better than Tyson Fury - he's actually sitting here," Joshua stated.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

In spite of saying he intends to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to speak negatively about his rival's boxing ability.

"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.

Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or declining opponents since turning professional.

He lost to Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the inexperienced fighter is still one of boxing's greatest commercial attractions, consistently making massive paydays.

Prediction and Belief

The 28 year old predicted a knockout win in round four or five and stated he would derail the much-anticipated match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"It will be me versus Tyson Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.

Size Difference

As both boxers participated in the traditional stare-down, with their size difference evident, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how astonishing it is that the match is truly going ahead.
